By making a reservation or using our services, you agree to comply with these terms, our policies, and all instructions provided at booking and pickup. Agreement, Eligibility, and Booking
When you reserve a vehicle with CityDrive Cars you form a binding rental agreement subject to these Terms of Service and any additional terms shown during booking. You must be at least 21 years old unless otherwise stated, and present a valid driver license issued by the appropriate authority. For some vehicle classes or corporate programs, higher minimum ages or additional documentation may be required. You are responsible for ensuring the driver meets local licensing requirements and is not under any restriction that would invalidate insurance or eligibility. At pickup we verify identity, license validity, and payment method, and complete the rental contract. Booking confirmation shows the selected vehicle class, rental period, pickup instructions, pricing, and any optional add-ons. Reservations may be modified or cancelled in line with the cancellation policy; changes are subject to availability and may affect rates or applicable fees.
Payments, Deposits, and Cancellation Policy
Payment for rentals is collected using the payment methods accepted at booking. A valid credit card is typically required to secure a reservation, and a security deposit or pre-authorization may be held on the card at pickup to cover incidental charges, damage, or violations. The amount of the hold is disclosed at booking or at pickup and varies by vehicle class and rental duration. Final charges include base rental fees, taxes, optional protection packages, additional services, fuel charges if applicable, and fees for damage or contractual violations. Cancellations are permitted according to the terms displayed at booking; generally, free cancellation is available up to 24 hours before scheduled pickup for most reservations. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur the full or partial rental fee, as described during booking. All fees and refunds are processed in accordance with our billing procedures and applicable law. For corporate accounts billing arrangements may differ and are governed by separate agreements.
Insurance, Damage, and Liability
CityDrive Cars provides optional protection packages that reduce your financial responsibility in the event of damage, subject to the terms, limits, and exclusions described at booking. The primary insurance obligations depend on the protection options chosen, the renter's personal insurance, and applicable local law. If you decline an optional protection package, you remain financially responsible for damage and loss according to the rental agreement. All incidents, thefts, or accidents must be reported immediately to our support line and to local law enforcement when required. You are responsible for reasonable care of the vehicle while in your custody, including secure parking and adherence to manufacturer recommendations. Damages resulting from driving under the influence, unauthorized use, off-road operation, or gross negligence are excluded from standard protections and will result in full financial responsibility. We maintain a roadside assistance program to support breakdowns and emergencies, which is included with most rentals or available as an add-on. Liability limitations and indemnity obligations are detailed in the rental contract and are governed by the laws applicable to San Francisco and the United States.
Use of Data, Privacy, and Communications
We collect and process personal data to provide rental services, comply with legal obligations, and deliver support. When you provide identity documents, payment information, or reservation preferences we use that data to confirm eligibility, process payments, and manage the rental lifecycle. Marketing communications are sent only with consent, and you can opt out at any time. Disputes, Governing Law, and Contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of the state of California and any dispute arising out of or relating to a rental will be resolved under those laws, except where mandatory law requires otherwise.
